Michigan adopted the performance expectations from NGSS in 2015 as the Michigan Science Standards. Some standards are further specified to Michigan topics and are indicated with the ** or the symbol.
For all intents and purposes, please refer to NGSS for additional support in understanding the standards and access resources.

Meet Linnea
Currently the Science Consultant for the Northern Michigan Learning Consortium, Linnea supports 8 ISDs in the northern lower peninsula. Linnea earned her degrees from Michigan State University. She taught for years in eastern North Carolina, before moving to Raleigh, NC, where she was the Science Specialist, STEM Coordinator, Magnet Coordinator, and Instructional Technology Facilitator. While in Raleigh, she provided and created programming for an award winning Engineering Magnet School, as well as an Entrepreneurial Design School. She served on the state STEM Recognition review panel, was a Project Based Learning Coach, a Kenan Teacher Leadership Fellow, a Design Thinking Fellow, and was a Maker Corps Mentor with MakerEd. Linnea resides in Traverse City with her husband, daughter, son, dog and chickens and enjoys all the outdoor adventures northern Michigan has to offer.
