Why...
Elementary educators to play, learn, and grow in their own environment to spark ideas for making in their classrooms and in their school.
A free-play opportunity with options for supported exploration in making, rooted in science performance expectations, in hopes that this will create ideas for their own students' learning. In hopes that it leads to conversations with Administrators around structures, supports and logistics of establishing/maintaining Maker resources.
Before, during, and after one school day in each building.
Northern Lower Michigan -- (at least one in each) WMISD, Manistee ESD, COOR ISD, Char-Em ISD, COP ESD, Iosco RESA, and AMA ESD. Priority beginning with schools who have established or plans for a MakerSpace
Students are natural creators and curious individuals, we effectively teach that out of them as we celebrate those with the "right" answer. These mini-makerfaires will get teachers on board, to allow for more making in the classroom.
